HP has now announced that the HP Elite X3 smartphone will start shipping from August onwards with the price tag of $699 in the United States. The HP Elite X3 was announced at the MWC event in February but the pricing and availability details were not disclosed by the company. This phablet comes with Windows 10 OS pre-installed and also supports additional Desk Dock and Mobile Extender accessories as well.
The HP Elite X3 comes with a 5.96-inch AMOLED WQHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by the 2.15 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 2TB with microSD card. It runs on Windows 10 OS out of the box and comes with Iris Scanner and Fingerprint sensor.
It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with FHD and f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. It is backed up by a 4150 mAh Li-ion polymer non- removable battery with quick charging feature. Connectivity options includes 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2×2), WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE combo USB 3.0 port with Type-C connector.
It also comes with IP67 rating for dust- and water-resistance and MIL-STD-810 rating with assurance of device protection for drops from up to 1 meter. It measures 83.5 x7.8 x 161.8 mm and weights 195grams. There is no information available about its global availability and pricing details. The company has already announced that the HP Elite X3 will be available in more than 47 countries including UK.
