After rolling Android 5.1 Lollipop update in the US, Brazil, and Canada, Motorola has now started rolling the Android Lollipop 5.1 update to Moto X 1st gen (2013) in 14 more countries. The countries includes Australia, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands and Spain.
David Schuster, Senior Director SW Product Management, Motorola Mobility informed about this on his google plus profile yesterday here. He posted,”I mentioned yesterday that we were looking at a potential issue on Moto X (1st Gen) and I would give an update shortly. Well….. here is your update:
I am pleased to announce that we have started full deployment for the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (1st Gen) for retail models in the following countries:Australia, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands and Spain.”
On the other hand, Moto X 2014 or Moto X 2nd Gen is also getting Android Lollipop 5.1 update on AT&T and US Cellular. This update is currently available only to retail units of these devices in these countries.
