BlackBerry DTEK50 officially launched with 3GB RAM and Snapdragon 617, pre-orders started at $299

After getting leaked online by the official listing yesterday, the company decided to launch its 2nd Android powered device BlackBerry DTEK50 all over the world. The device is now listed on official Blackberry website and is up for pre-orders on ShopBlackBerry.com for $299 in the United states, Canada (CAD 429), UK (£275), France, Germany (€339), Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands. The customers can also get a free BlackBerry Mobile Power Pack worth $59.99 till August 8 for a limited period and the device will be available for sale starting August 8. It will be available in Black color option.

BlackBerry claims BlackBerry DTEK50 the world’s most secure smartphone as it comes with Malware protection, encrypts all users information that includes personal data of the users. DTEK app lets its users keep an eye on their OS and apps and checking if their privacy could be at risk and taking immediate action to control it.

BlackBerry DTEK50 has similar features and look like the TCL Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone that was launched this year by TCL. BlackBerry DTEK50 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD scratch-resistant display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 617 (4 x 1.5GHz + 4 x 1.2GHz) processor with 550MHz Adreno 405 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage capacity with microSD card expandable storage slot up to 2TB.

It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and will be available ion single SIM option. It features a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Fast focus lock, HDR, 6-element f2.0 lens, Dual tone dual LED Flash – Enhanced photo colour balance, 4x digital zoom, continuous & touch to focus, face detection, image stabilisation, Panorama, Burst, Live Filters, Multi-frame Low Light Enhancement  1080p HD video recording at 30 fps.

It also has a 8-megapixel fixed-focus front facing camera with f2.2 aperture, 1.125um pixel size, 84 degrees wide angle view lens, Image & video stabilisation, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, Selfie Flash, Wide Selfie Mode (also known as Selfie Panorama) and Multi-Frame Low Light Enhancement.
