Chinese phonemaker Oppo was recently announced to have topped the chart for phone sales in China for the month of June, beating Huawei and Apple. The company has made in roads into markets outside China and that has proven to be a great strategy. To consolidate on that, the company has fixed August 3 for the launch of the Oppo F1s which they tag as the “Selfie Expert”.
The F1s looks like a successor of the Oppo F1 released earlier this year, and it features an improved 16MP front facing camera which makes it actually look like one for the selfie lovers. The F1s is also said to have a super fast fingerprint sensor which unlocks the device in seconds.
But then, little is known about the specs of the F1s apart from the selfie camera sensor size and fingerprint sensors. The phone is said to cram similar hardwares with striking similarities in looks to the Oppo A59.
A fresh leak has exposed further specs of the F1s to include that the smarthone will sport a 5.5-inch LCD display with a disappointing 720p resolution, that is if the leak source is authentic. It is also rumored that the device will be powered by the MedaTek MT6750 chipset, backed by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and 13MP camera at the back. The device is touted to have a dimension of 154.5 x 76 x 7.38mm, weighing in at 160 grams, with a 3075 mAh battery under its hood.
The leak also reveals that the Oppo F1s will carry a price tag of INR 19,999 in India (or $270) and that Oppo will start accepting pre-orders from August 4, a day after the device debuts. There are also rumors that the Oppo is planning some sort of exclusive gifts as incentives for those that pre-order which could be in form of an additional F1s unit signed by a celebrity for one lucky buyer.
