Huawei has launched a new smartphone today in the Honor series with the brand name Honor 5 or Honor Play 5 in an official event along with the Honor Note 8. The device available for pre-order on vMall for 599 Yuan (around $90) and will be available in Black, White and Gold color options. The sale will start in China from August 2nd onwards. It comes with budgeted price and features and is expected to launch soon on China Mobile Chinese carrier.
Honor Play 5 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. It is powered by the 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6735P processor with Mali-T720 GPU and comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 128GB with MicroSD card slot. It runs on the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite and supports Dual SIM as well.
It features an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash as well. There is a 2200mAh battery backing up the device and connectivity options includes 4G with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It measures 143.8 x 72 x 8.9mm and weights 138 grams. There is no information outed about its global roll-out yet by the company.
Huawei also launched the flagship Huawei Honor Note 8 that comes with features such as a 6.6-inch Quad HD display with 1440×2560 pixels resolution, octa-core Kirin 955 processor with Mali T880-MP4 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options, expandable storage via microSD card up to 128GB, a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 8-megapixel front camera, hybrid dual-SIM, a fingerprint scanner, Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Emotion UI 4.1 OS, a 4500mAh battery178.8×90.9×7.18mm, weighs 219 grams, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi etc.
