AmanXiaomi has finally launched the new Android 5.0 Lollipop based operating system MIUI 7 in India after launching it in China last week. Xiaomi launched the new MIUI 7 in an event at New Delhi. Xiaomi also launched the coloured versions of Mi 4i in India as limited edition smartphone. It will be available starting 25 August at 2pm exclusively on mi.com/in for Rs.12,999.
MIUI 7 comes with new features and optimizations. A new MUSE engine is available for developers that allows them to create themes with rich animations and dynamic content easily without complex coding. MIUI 7 comes with 4 different default themes. 10 pre-set HD wallpapers are available which is only available in India currently.
Xiaomi also reacted to the users feature requests that were about battery life and better performance of the Mi devices and MIUI 7 delivers its users with better battery performance and faster app loading times. Start up time of Apps have been reduced and a new CPU acceleration feature is also introduced which helps boosts CPU speeds whenever needed.
MIUI 7 optimizes system response time by loading data and app animation in parallel. That’s a 30% speed increase which is immediately noticeable, and surprisingly fast. MIUI 7 performance optimization has been described in the following video over MIUI 6:
The apps now consume as much as 48% battery on standby by accessing GPS, network data and Wi-Fi. MIUI 7 improves battery life by 25% by optimizing the apps. A new Child Mode is introduced which limits access to personal information like emails and messages.
MIUI 7 also partnered with Opera Max to provide Data Saver which helps compresses browser and in-app media letting you save up to 50% of data usage. This feature will be rolled out in September 2015 in China, India, Brasil, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines.
MIUI 7 will start rolling on 24 August to the supported devices like Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Mi 3/4/4i, Redmi Note 3G/4G.
