Samsung is said to be working on a budget smartphone which would run on its Linux kernel-based Tizen OS. The phone which is known as Samsung Z2 has reportedly been in the works for over a year and had surfaced in leaked image renders sometime last year.
Very recently, another set of images surfaced online captured during the launch of the Galaxy Note 7 in Africa, an indication that the smartphone will pop soon even though the exact date the device will become available for purchase isn’t known. Already, the device’s Firmware have found their way online, as well as Wallpapers reportedly for the Z2 thus confirming the phone will hit the market soon.
However, it is now rumored that the Korean smartphone maker is billed to launch the Samsung Z2 in India on August 11, the same day the Galaxy note 7 and Galaxy A9 Pro are expected to be launched in India. The Z2 is also tipped to clutch a price tag of Rs. 4,499 which is about $68, which is a ridiculously cheap price tag.
Apart from India, the Tizen OS based Samsung Z2 will be launched in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal where the Z1 were sold. The budget Z2 smartphone will find its way into markets in Africa, specifically South Africa and Nigeria as well as Indonesia in Asia.
The Samsung Z2 is said to come in two color variants, black and white and tha is all we know for now. But previous rumors had suggested that the Samsung Z2 with model number SM-Z200F will sport a 4-inch display and come equipped with 1GB of RAM. The Z2 is touted to likely be the first Samsung Tizen-powered smartphone to support 4G connectivity.
