Tizen-powered Samsung Z2 launched in India for $68

The Samsung Z2 was leaked a number of times in the past and the device was set to launch on 23rd august as Samsung was teasing the device. Today, in an official event at New Delhi, Samsung launched the Tizen powered smartphone Samsung Z2 for Indian market. This new device comes with affordable price tag with 4G VoLTE connectivity and Dual-SIM capability. The Samsung Z2 is priced at Rs. 4590 (around $68) and comes with Black, Wine Red and Gold colour options. The interested buyers can buy it starting August 29th from Paytm online and through offline retail stores in India as well.

Samsung has also listed this device on official Samsung India website that confirms the Reliance JIO offer for this device owners. With the Jio Preview Offer the customers will be given a SIM that will give access to the Reliance Jio apps like Jio Beats, Jio On Demand and others for free for 90 days with unlimited 4G LTE data, VoLTE calling and more. The offer will be available for limited period.

The Samsung Z2 comes with a 4-inch WVGA TFT display with 800 × 480 pixels resolution and is powered by the 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage with up to 128GB microSD card expandable storage option. It runs on the Tizen OS 2.4 out of the box and supports Dual-SIMs.

It features a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has a small 1500mAh battery available with connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. This device also comes with Samsung’s ‘Make for India’ features such as the Ultra Data Saving mode, S bike mode and the new My Money Transfer apps.
