Chinese innovative tech start up Xiaomi has officially released the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone which it tags “thousand yuan flagship”, apparently in reference to the cheap price tag the smartphone adopts alongside the flagship grade specs it packs. The specs are just similar to those spotted on TENAA last week.
The Redmi Note 4 sports the same design as recent Redmi smartphones with an all-metal body having a dimension of 151 x 76 x 8.35mm and weighing in at 175 grams, which is very similar to the Redmi Pro’s dimensions and weight.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080p and 450 nit brightness. The smartphone is powered by a 2.1GHz Deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset which is usually found on flagship devices. The Redmi Note 4 comes in two memory version; a base version with 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and an higher version which features 3GB RAM + 64GB storage. Both memory versions can be expanded with a microSD.
Going further, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 packs a 13-megapixel single rear camera with 5P lens,f/2.0 aperture, color temperature flash, PDAF and HDR. The rear camera is capable of recording at a max resolution of 1080p at 30 fps and 720p slo-mo at 120 fps. While up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera which comes with Beauty 2.0, f/2.0 aperture and facial recognition. There is a Fingerprint sensor just under the rear camera which apart from unlocking the phone, supports Ali and Mi payments.
The Redmi Note 4 comes with entire network support and equally features dual SIM and dual standby modes. In addition, the phone boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8, Xiaomi’s latest and cram a 4100mAh battery which has 5V 2A fast charging feature.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in three color options namely; silver, gray and gold variants and as for the price, the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM versions of the Redmi Note 4 will retail for 899 Yuan ($135) while the higher 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM version costs 1199 Yuan ($180).
