The Lenovo owned, Motorola has started selling the variant of the Moto G4 called Moto G4 Play in Canada. This device will be available on several Canadian carriers like TELUS, Koodo, Virgin, Wind and Bell. It is available at $0 on contract for 2 years or you can pay between $199 and $249 without contract unlocked. So you will get a good amount of RAM, Snapdragon processor and a good camera but there won’t be any fingerprint scanner available just like the Moto G4.
The company has also announced that the Moto G4 Play will be available in India on September 6th exclusively on Amazon India website. The Moto G4 Play was announced along with Moto G4 and G4 Plus in May this year and it is the more affordable budget 4G smartphone from the company. It will be available in Black and White color options in Canada and all other regions.
The specifications of the Moto G4 Play includes a 5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and will be powered by the 1.4 GHz quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor with Adreno 306 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage capacity with up to 128GB with microSD expandable storage. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) and supports dual-SIM.
It features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. There will be a 2800mAh battery with Quick Charge feature backing up this device. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio support also. It measures 144.4x72x8.95-9.9 mm and weights 137 grams.
