AmanIn an IFA event today, Lenovo announced the rumored Moto Z Play smartphone with modular support. The Moto Z Play is the 3rd member of the Moto Z series and comes with mid-range specifications but with Moto Mods support magnets just like the Moto Z and Z Force. The Moto Z Play comes with Black, Silver, Black Slate, White, Fine Gold and Sugar White color options.
It is priced at $449.99 and will be available for sale starting September globally. In Europe, it will cost 499 Euros and in the United States it will be available as Moto Z Play Droid and will be priced at $408 or $17/month for 24 months. It will be available for sale starting September 8 via Motorola website and Verizon in US.
Moto Z Play comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU and has 3GB of RAM with 32GB / 64GB internal storage that is expandable up to 2TB with microSD card. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and will be available in single SIM and Dual SIM options.
It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.3um pixel, f/2.0 aperture, Laser Autofocus and PDAF and also comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and LED flash as well. It comes with a 3510mAh battery with turbo charging feature which is claimed to give up to 50 hours of battery life and with turbo power, get up to 9 hours of power in just 15 min of charging.
Connectivity options includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC and USB Type-C port. Moto Z Play measures 156.4 x 76.4 x 6.99mm and weights 165grams. It comes with a square shape fingerprint sensor on front panel and also comes with front-ported loudspeaker with 3-mic support as well. The Moto Z Play also comes with Moto Mods connector magnets on the back, water repellent nano-coating and a 3.5mm audio jack.
