It is stale news now that Google is ditching the Nexus name for Pixel on its two expected flagship devices which we had all along known by their code-names Marlin and Sailfish. The two devices wil now go by the names Pixel for the one code-named Sailfish and Pixel XL for the one code-named Marlin.
A new leak showing the front aspect of both the Pixel and Pixel XL have surface online, ahead of the October 4 date the devices are expected to be officially unveiled by Google. The leaked images seem to have emanated from a part dealer in Hong Kong and show the devices will come in both white and black color variants. There might be more color options, though, but what we have on the renders are just the white and black variants.
The renders show that both device will actually not have physical home buttons but will feature virtual buttons. The fingerprint sensor will be mounted on the back of the smartphones.
The devices which would be manufactured by HTC had appeared in several leaks in the past detailing not only their images but also the likely specs they would pack. The Google Pixel is rumored to come with a 4.99-inch (approx. 5-inch) panel, while the Pixel XL would rock a 5.46-inch (approx. 5.5-inch) display panel.
Both smartphones are expected to run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of their boxes and are rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 821 chipsets. This is in contrast, though, with the AnTuTu benchmark appearance of both Sailfish and Pixel XL Marlin which were listed as powered by Snapdragon 820 chips
