Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime launched in India

As expected, Samsung has launched the two new Galaxy J series devices in India called the Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime. We previously told our readers that Samsung may launch the Galaxy J5 Prime having the model number SM-G570F along with the Galaxy J7 Prime and today, the Korean giant has finally launched the Galaxy J5 Prime.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is priced at Rs. 18,790 (around $281) while the Galaxy J5 Prime is priced at Rs. 14,790 (around $221) and will be available for sale starting September -end in the country. There are no details available about the global availability of both the phones outside India.

The Galaxy J7 Prime is the upgraded variant of the Galaxy J7 2016 while the Galaxy J5 Prime is also a slightly upgraded variant of the Galaxy J5 2016. Both the phones comes with a fingerprint scanner on the front home button and comes with S Power planning and S Secure features.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and 1080×1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage capacity which is expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and supports Dual-SIMs.

It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and there is an 8-megapixel front camera also available with f/1.9 aperture. It is backed up by a 3300mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro-USB, OTG and 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 151.5×74.9×8.1mm and weights 167 grams. Color options includes Gold and Black.

The Galaxy J5 Prime comes with a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB  inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB. It runs on the Android 6.0 marshmallow OS out of the box and supports dual-SIMs as well.

The features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is backed up by a 2,400 non-removable battery and connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and FM Radio.
