Lenovo launched the flagship smartphone Lenovo Z2 Plus in India last week which is the Indian variant of the ZUK Z2 available in China currently. The device comes with excellent features and latest hardware with top-end specifications at an affordable price. Its just a week when the device was launched in India, the company has started rolling the first Android update to the Lenovo Z2 Plus. Its not a major update but comes with some bug fixes and improvements.
The latest update bumps the ZUI version to 2.0.111 and weights around 272 MB. Please note that this is not a September security update for this device that may be rolled out separately, however the update release notes lists updated security patch with this update. The the security level with this new update is still showing 1st August 2016. This update fixes issues with the notifications and phone calls via Chrono case, the photo capturing experience in low light is improved that means the camera app has an update.
Other improvements includes multiple issues for system stability and multi languages. The update also brings some display improvements for the device and the auto focus stability of the rear camera is also enhanced. No other changes are listed in this update. I can’t see any changes in the Android system after the update.
To recall, the Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a 5-inch full-HD LTPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 3GB DDR4 RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variants. No external storage slot available in both variants.
It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS out of the box and supports Dual-SIMs. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/ 2.2, 5P lens, ISOCELL sensor, PDAF, CAF dual-mode focus, EIS and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with 1.4μm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and 78.9-degree wide viewing angle. It is backed up by a 3500mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 feature that can charge the phone up to 80% in 1 hour.
Connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB 2.0 Type-C. It measures 141.65×68.88×8.45mm and weights 149 grams. A fingerprint scanner is also available on the physical home button on front panel that can unlock the phone in just 0.1 seconds.
