It has been around 2 months when the Android 7.0 Nougat OS was announced by Google and many smartphone operators revealed their plans of providing Android Nougat update to their devices. Motorola has now joined the list of that smartphone companies to provide the Nougat update to its devices in the upcoming months. The Lenovo owned company today announced via a blog post that it will rollout the Android Nougat update to the handful of its devices.
In an official blog post, Motorola published a list of devices that will get the update in next few months. The Moto Z and Moto G 4th Generation will be the first devices to get the update in the Q4 of 2016 followed by other devices that includes the following:
- Moto G (4th Gen)
- Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
- Moto G Play (4th Gen)
- Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
- Moto X Style
- Moto X Play
- Moto X Force
- Droid Turbo 2
- Droid Maxx 2
- Moto Z
- Moto Z Droid
- Moto Z Force Droid
- Moto Z Play
- Moto Z Play Droid
- Nexus 6
We already know that the Android 7.0 Nougat update comes with new look and enhancements like Notification enhancements, dedicated VR mode, Doze improvements, Data Saver, Background optimizations, Direct boot, custom Quick Settings, replay from notifications, bundled notifications, 72 new emoji, Multi-window functionality, a way to quickly switch to the previous app (by double-tapping the multitasking button), partial support for more than 100 new languages and other exciting features.
We have recently saw that Google launched their Pixel phones with latest Android OS Android 7.1 Nougat that is currently only available with Pixel devices and will be rolled out soon to other devices including Nexus devices, but we are not sure when this update will start rolling out to all Android powered devices. We have to wait and see for more information regarding this.
