Xiaomi Mi 5C, code-named “Meri”, leaked in images

Xiaomi launched their latest flagship devices Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus last month with top-end specifications in China and affordable price tag. Both comes with SD 821, 6GB RAM option and other high-end specs as well.

Now, the company is spotted working on a new smartphone with code name Xiaomi “Meri” and is expected to launch as Xiaomi Mi 5c in the upcoming days. The leaked images shows the device from the front and back sides with full metal body and having a rear facing camera with a LED flash.

A fingerprint scanner is available on the physical home button on front panel. A LED notification light is also available on the top left corner of the phone. The device running MIUI 8.6.9.6 version based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The device comes with a large display possibly a 5.5-inch one with 2.5D glass and comes with 3GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage capacity, a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek processor and 4G LTE with VoLTE support as well.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to be priced between 1200 yuan-1500 yuan in China which is around $180-$225 if we check the current exchange rates. Xiaomi has not yet launched the Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5s Plus globally, so we may see the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5c probably in the first quarter of the 2017 globally. We have to wait for the official confirmation though.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 5S with features such as a 5.15-inch custom high-brightness 1920 x 1080p display, a 2.35GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU, 3GB /4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) based company’s MIUI 8, a 12-megapixel rear and a a 4-megapixel front camera, a 3200mAh battery, USB Type-C port, NFC and 4G.

The Xiaomi 5s Plus was launched with a 5.7-inch full-HD display, a 2.35GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM + 64GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage and 6GB LPDDR4 RAM + 128GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) based company’s MIUI 8, a 13-megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, a 4-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3800mAh battery and USB Type-C.
