Meizu M5 announced with 3GB RAM and a 3070mAh battery priced at $103

Meizu today launched its new mid-range smartphone Meizu M5 in the Meizu M series in its official event in China. The phone comes with a polycarbonate body and comes with a budgeted price tag. It is priced at 699 yuan (around $103) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage variant and 899 yuan (around $132) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant. Pre-orders have started in China from today with sales starting this November. Color options includes Mint Green, Glacier White, Champanage Gold, Sapphire Blue and Matte Black.

The Meizu M5 comes with a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by a octa-core MediaTek MT6750 (4 x 1.5GHz A53 + 4 x 1.0GHz A53) processor with Mali T860 GPU. It comes with 3GB RAM and two variants with one having 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB (eMMC 5.0) internal storage while the other having 3GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB (eMMC 5.0) internal storage capacity with expandable storage up to 128GB with microSD card.

It runs on the Yun OS 5.1 with FlyMe OS 5.5 and supports Hybrid Dual-SIM. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4P lens. A 3070mAh battery is available along with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS / GLONASS connectivity options.

It measures 147.28 × 72.8 × 8.15mm and weights 138 grams. It comes with a mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor available on the home button that can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds. No new available of its global roll-out yet.
