A new device has just joined the Huawei Mate 9 series today when the company launched the Huawei Mate 9 Lite smartphone that comes with downgraded specs from the flagship Huawei Mate 9. There are no details available about the pricing and availability details of the smartphone but we can expect that more details about the device will be available soon. The Huawei Mate 9 Lite comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by the octa-core Kirin 655 ( 4 x 2.1GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) 16nm processor with Mali T830-MP2. It comes with two variants: one with 3GB of RAM + 32GB internal storage capacity and the second one with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage with microSD expandable storage up to 256GB. It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 and Dual-SIM support.
It features a dual rear camera with 12-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1.25μm pixel size, LED flash, and a 2-megapixel secondary camera lens with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed up by a 3340mAh battery and we have 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS connectivity options. It measures 150.9×76.2×8.2mm and weights 162 grams. A fingerprint scanner is again available with this device on the rear side.
The company has already launched the flagship series Mate 9 device that includes Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Porsche design limited edition and the Huawei Mate 9 Pro launched few days back in China. All these comes with dual-rear camera setup and a fingerprint scanner on the rear side with the Mate 9 Pro having the sensor on the front panel. All runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat based Emotion UI 5.0 out of the box and supports dual-SIMs.
