Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4A launched in China

Xiaomi has announced the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A smartphones in China that comes with affordable price tags and impressive mid-range specifications. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 costs 699 yuan ($103) for the Snapdragon 430 processor variant having 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage and the Snapdragon 625 variant costs 899 yuan ($133) that has 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage.

The Redmi 4 comes with Silver, Grey and Gold color options while the Redmi 4A comes with a price tag of 499 yuan ($74) and comes with Gold and Rose Gold color options. The sales of both the smartphones will start this November 11th in China. The global roll out of both the devices is expected to start next month.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes with a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution Full HD IPS 2.5D curved display that has a two processor options including a octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU and a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor with Adreno 506 GPU.

It comes with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) that is based on the MIUI 8 and we also have the Hybrid dual-SIM support. It has 2GB / 3GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB internal storage options with up to 128GB microSD card expandable storage. Camera options includes 13-megapixel rear camera having features such as dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.

A fingerprint scanner is available on the rear side and it gets backed up by a 4100mAh battery. Connectivity options we got here includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS and others and it measures 141.3×69.6×8.9mm and weights 156g.

The Redmi 4A, on the other hand, comes with features such as 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixels resolution HD IPS display and 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 processor with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU. It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) based MIUI 8 again. 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage is available along with up to 128GB microSD card expandable storage. Hybrid Dual SIM is supported.

We have a 13MP rear camera that comes with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording with a 5MP front camera having f/2.2 aperture. 3120mAh is available along with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and GLONASS connectivity options. It measures 139.5×70.4×8.5mm and weights 131.5g and there is no fingerprint scanner available.
