Chinese company Vivo has announced a new smartphone Vivo Y66 in China today which was spotted approved by the Chinese TENAA last month. The Vivo Y66 is priced at Yuan 1498 (around $217) in China and is available for sale in the country. The Vivo Y66 looks similar to the Vivo Y55 design with upgraded features and with a metal unibody design. This device also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the physical home button available on the front panel. Let’s checkout the official specifications of the device.
The Vivo Y66 comes with a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with 720×1280 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 processor that also comes with a Adreno 505 GPU for excellent graphics and gaming experience. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity that you can further expand up-to 128GB via microSD card. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS having the company’s Funtouch OS 3.0 on top.
The Vivo Y66 also supports Dual-SIM and features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed up by a 3000mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 2.0 technology that gives fast charging ability to the device. The device supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, a microUSB port, WiFi and GPS connectivity features. It measures 153.56×75.79×7.49 mm and weighs 157 grams. Color options available are Rose Gold and Silver color.
For comparison, the Vivo Y55 was announced in October with a 5.2-inch TFT IPS HD display, an octa-core 1.4GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) processor with Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage capacity expandable storage up to 128GB via MicroSD card, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS based Funtouch OS 2.6, Dual-SIM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto focus, LED Flash, HDR, and f/2.0 aperture, a 5-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2730mAh battery.
