Xiaomi’s Redmi series device Redmi Note 4 was launched in August last year and was sold like cakes in the home country. The company is soon going to launch the Redmi Note 4 device in India soon and now the successor to the device called Redmi Note 5 has just been spotted clearing the US FCC authority site. We are still not cleared if this is actually the Redmi Note 5 smartphone but rumors claims that it is the Redmi Note 5 that comes with model number 2016102.
The US FCC listing for the Xiaomi 2016102 lists this new device with the MIUI 8 OS out of the box and features 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth etc connectivity options. It supports Dual-SIMs and is backed up by a 4000mAh battery. Other details of the device are currently unknown and we have to wait for more leaks and rumors to have more details on the specifications of the device. The device is expected to clear the Chinese TENAA soon that will provide us the full details and leaked images of the device.
To recall, the Redmi Note 4 was launched with a full metal body and features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. Under the hood, it has the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor that also comes with the Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It comes with 16GB and 64GB inbuilt storage options and 2GB/3GB RAM options with microSD card expandable storage up to 128GB. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS based MIUI 8. It also comes with Hybrid Dual-SIM support and features a fingerprint scanner on the back.
It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and it also has a 5-megapixel front camera. There is a large 4100mAh battery available with connectivity features like GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB. Color options includes Gold, Grey and Silver. It measures It measures 151x76x8.35mm and weighs 175 grams. So its a nice option for the customers to buy in this price range with a fingerprint scanner and a good 5.5-inch display as well.
