HTC not only launched the HTC U Play at the fficial event but also launched the top-end flagship in the HTC U Series called HTC U Ultra that comes with flagship category specifications. It comes in Sapphire Blue, Comestic Pink, Brilliant Black and Ice White color options and will be available for pre-order starting today via HTC website priced at $750. In Taiwan, it is priced at NT $23,900 (around $753) while the Sapphire Glass variant having 128GB internal storage is priced at NT $28,900 (around $911). Shipping of the device will start from March 2017 onwards.
The main highlight of the HTC U Ultra is its 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the 5.7-inch main display. It features a glass back and front and comes with a metal frame. The rear glass of the device is curved on all the four edges giving it a premium look. The U Ultra comes with a HTC Sense Companion software that comes with an AI to offer suggestions based on your phone usage on the secondary screen
The HTC U Ultra features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 protection and Sapphire Glass with the 128GB variant. It also comes with a 2.0-inch secondary display with 160 x 1040 pixels resolution, 520 PPI and Super LCD 5 technology. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor (2×2.15 GHz Kryo and 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) with Adreno 530 GPU and comes with 4GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB internal storage options and MicroSD card expandable storage up to 2TB.
It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box with HTC Sense UI on top and supports hybrid dual SIM. It features a 12-megapixel (UltraPixel 2) rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser AF, OIS, 4K video recording and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and UltraPixel mode. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 feature and we have 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity options. Other options includes HTC USonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition and 3D audio recording with 4 microphones. It measures 162.41 x 79.79 x 3.6-7.99 mm and weights 161 grams.
