Sony has now launched their first SIM-free smartphone in Japan called the Sony Xperia J1 Compact(D5788) that will launch with NTT DoCoMo on April 20 in Japan. Its an unlocked smartphone that comes with similar specifications like Sony Xperia A2 for NTT DoCoMo. The pre-orders will start on March 27 with a price of JPY 59,184(around 330 GBP).
Sony Xperia J1 Compact has 4.3 inch 720p display and is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a Adreno 330 GPU. It runs the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out of the box but we can expect a Lollipop upgrade after its launch.
It features 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage with expandable storage capacity. It comes with 20.7-megapixel rear flash camera with a 2.2-megapixel front camera.
Sony Xperia J1 Compact comes with a 2300mAh non-removable battery and has connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS and NFC. It weights 138 grams and is IP68-certified.
