Moto G 4G (1st Gen) And Moto X (2014) Verizon Android 5.1 Soak Test Started In US

Motorola has started soak tests for Moto G 4G (1st Gen) and Moto X (2014) Verizon devices today.

David Schuster, Senior Director SW Product Management Motorola posted two updates today on his Google Plus account. “we have started the soak test for the Android Lollipop 5.1 upgrade for Moto X (2nd Gen) on Verizon today. If all goes well we will open it up next week.”, “One more update for now…. We have started full soak test for the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade for the Moto G (1st Gen) with 4G LTE for US retail today.” He wrote.

David also posted the link to Moto G 4G Android 5.1 release notes. We can expect the update to start on both devices this coming week. Recently, Moto X (2nd Gen) Pure Edition, Moto X 2nd Gen 2014 and Moto X 2013 received Android 5.1 update in US and other regions.

As we know this update brings new changes and improvements including new colorful material design look, Notifications UI improvements, recent Apps, flashlight improvements,  quick settings, battery improvements etc.

UK and Europe Moto G 4G first generation users have already reported that they are getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop update which can be available for every user in the US soon. Motorola Droid Turbo is also expected to receive this update soon.
