HTC will rollout Android Lollipop updates to its HTC One M9 on Sprint and HTC Desire Eye on AT&T in the USA. VP Product management, Mo Versi of HTC USA confirmed this news on his twitter account today.
Mo Versi Posted,”Great news for HTC Desire Eye AT&T owners! We’ve just received technical approval for Lollipop update! OTA to start tomorrow!” on Twitter here. He also posted,”HTC One (M9) Sprint Owners! We have received technical approval on Lollipop OS 5.1 which includes camera improvements. OTA to start on 7/1!” here.
HTC One M9 Sprint owners will receive Android 5.1 but HTC desire Eye AT&T is expected to receive android 5.0 lollipop as Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC, Mr. Jeff Gordon confirmed this while replying to a user. The Android 5.0 update will be of 1GB size approximately which will install Sense 6.55 instead of the new Sense 7 UI which is available on Android 5.1.
The Android 5.1 update for HTC One M9 Sprint owners will provide the device with bug fixes like Wifi bug fixes, security updates etc. and camera improvements.
