Just after a day when LG has announced its new Android based flip phone in South Korea which is named as LG Gentle, Samsung has also announced its own new android flip phone. This new handset has been named as Galaxy folder. It is being said that this new android phone is the successor of the Galaxy Folder of year 2013. This time around the name remains unchanged.
This new android smartphone will be only available in its home country i.e Korea. The same thing stands true for LG Gentle also.
The new android phone has following specifications:
Display: this device has 3.8 inch touchscreen display but the pixel resolution remains unknown till now. In addition to the touch screen, the new Galaxy Folder has an easy to use keypad.
Internal memory: Samsung Galaxy Folder has been provided with 8 GB internal memory. It is expandable upto 128 GB.
Camera: the new handset has been featured with 8 MP rear camera. 2 MP front shooting camera has been provided by the company.
Battery: the new android flip phone has been packed with 1800 mAh battery. The battery is removable.
The android version which this phone runs is still not specified but it seems that it may run Android Lollipop 5.1.1 same as that of LG gentle , which has been announced yesterday.
Colours: The new handset is coming with 2 colour options which are white and dark blue.
The connectivity options which are available are: LTE, Wi-Fi and GPS.
The tech giant stated that, “the folding style design combined with the smartphone features, including internet, messenger and social networking services, will add to the device’s convenience.”
This new device by Samsung will be available for buying from next month i.e August in South Korea. It is going to carry a price tag of around $ 250 (unlocked).
It is still not clear that whether Samsung Galaxy Folder will be available only in the home country of Samsung or is it going to be available in other markets as well.
