There were reports of Xiaomi to enter the US market and looks like the Chinese manufacturer will enter the US market with the Redmi 2 Pro smartphone. Redmi 2 Pro comes with similar specifications like Redmi 2 Prime, which was launched in India last month for around $110.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 2 Pro smartphone, that was launched last year, is now certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US hinting towards the entry of Xiaomi in the US.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro includes 4.7-inch HD OGS IPS-LCD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 LTE-enabled 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU and features 2GB of RAM. The display is Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protected.
It runs on Android 4.4.4 based MIUI 6, but in the US, Xiaomi is expected to launch it with MIUI 7. It has 16GB of inbuilt storage with up to 32GB micro SD card expandable storage slot. It features an 8MP autofocus LED flash rear camera with a 2 MP front facing camera. The camera features includes Zero shutter lag, face recognition, high dynamic range (HDR) and real-time filters etc.
It has a 2200mAh lithium-ion battery that can give standby time of about 2-3 days. It comes with Gyro, Light, Gravity, Proximity, Compass sensors too. The device dimensions are 5.27 x 2.64 x 0.36 inches (134 x 67.21 x 9.2 mm) and it weights 134 g. Connectivity options available in Redmi 2 Pro includes 2G, 3G, 4G FDD-LTE, GPS , AGPS ,GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi hotspot. It is currently available in Black, Pink, Yellow, White and Light Green color variants.
