CES 2016 is going to start on January 6 in Las Vegas and Sony has already announced that it is holding an event in the CES 2016 on January 5 at 5PM local time where they will launch multiple products along with the flagship Xperia device. Now, Samsung has also started sending the invites for its CES 2016 event where the company is expected to announce the flagship devices in the Galaxy S series called the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge that will be the successors of the current flagships of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Samsung’s CES 2016 event will take place on January 5 from 14:00 to 14:45 PM.
The CES 2016 invitation image doesn’t provide any information about what products they will launch in this event but we may expect the Galaxy S7 smartphone in the event. Another possibility is of the rumored Samsung Galaxy A9. It was found listed on the Samsung Iran website with specifications and launch date December 1, but, it was not launched on that given date.
The Galaxy A9 is rumored to have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 620 SoC with four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and quad-core Cortex-A53 unit @ 1.4 GHz alongside Adreno 510 GPU. It will have 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of inbuilt storage with up to 128 GB expandable storage facility via microSD card. It will feature a 16 MP rear camera with HDR and autofocus and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Connectivity features includes GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE etc. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and will have unknown size battery.
The Galaxy S7 is expected to have a 5.2-inches display and will feature a a 20-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front facing camera. It will be powered by a an Exynos 8890 processor and will have 3GB of RAM. other specs are unknown currently. Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a large 5.7 inches display with other same processor and specifications used in the Galaxy S7.
