Samsung Galaxy series is going to get its new member soon in the form of Samsung Galaxy A9. There are number of rumors already on for the Galaxy A9 and recently some of the official images from the device were leaked on Weibo confirming the specifications of the device. Now, Samsung Galaxy A9 has got the FCC approval in the US hinting towards its imminent launch in the US and worldwide. The FCC documents for the Galaxy A9 can be checked here on FCC website.

As usual, the FCC documents for the Galaxy A9 doesn’t includes any images from the handset and no specs are listed in the documents as well. The device supports connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi etc. There are no other specs listed in the documents. Samsung Galaxy A9 was leaked in the series of official images that confirmed that it will have a 6-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with 1080p resolution and dual 2.5D glass panel.

The display size was confirmed when the device was spotted on Indian export/import website Zauba with display size listed. Galaxy A9 is powered by an octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 620 that comes with 4x Cortex-A72 and 4x Cortex-A53 cores alongside Adreno 510 GPU for graphics. It will have 3GB of RAM and will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box which will be upgradable to Android Marshmallow later.

It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and f/1.9 aperture and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. It comes with 32GB inbuilt storage with expandable storage slot and has a large 4,000 mAh battery. It will support LTE Cat.7 connectivity with other connectivity options as well like Bluetooth, Wifi, USB etc. There will be a support for Samsung Pay and it will feature a fingerprint scanner too.

So, now let’s wait for the CES 2016 event for Samsung that is scheduled for January 5. There are 100% chance now that Samsung will launch the Galaxy A9 in this event. For another look at the specs we may want a TENAA listing of the device as well which may also be on its way. Stay tuned.
