AmanHTC has started rolling the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the unlocked HTC One M9 devices in the US. Yesterday, HTC’s VP, Product Management, MO Versi announced via his Twitter account that unlocked HTC One A9 will receive the Android 6.0.1 and unlocked HTC One M9 will start receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow within next 24 hours, and now the users has started reporting that they are getting the Marshmallow 6.0 n their unlocked HTC One M9 devices in the US. The One A9 update will also be available from today.
Yesterday, MO Versi tweeted,”Happy Holidays! Updates to the Unlocked A9 6.0.1 and Unlocked M9 6.0 will be able to be downloaded within next 24 hours! Enjoy :-)” and now two users have posted the screenshot of the update from their devices on their Twitter accounts. The update comes in two parts as per the users that posted the screenshots. The first part is of 99.47MB and the second part is of 1.21 GB in size. So, do ensure that your phone has sufficient storage space available to download this update on your device.
The first part of the update comes with built number 2.11.617.180 and the 2nd part of the update comes with built number 3.35.717.12. The Android 6 Marshmallow will add new features and enhancements to your device. This update comes with features like new App permissions which lets you define what you want to share and turn permissions off anytime. Now on tap feature gives its users access to additional information whilst on active screen. Doze feature is added that helps optimizing the battery of the device. This update also comes with Android security update for your One M9 to improve on board security of your device.
Mo Versi has already promised few weeks back that the unlocked HTC One M9 will get Android 6.0 and HTC One A9 will get Android 6.0.1 in December and yesterday he announced the roll out of the update for both devices. He also said that HTC One A9 will get the updated emoji with the update. On December 10, HTC rolled out the security update including improvements to the camera.
HTC is going to launch the next device today in China called the HTC One X9 in an official event. The company is already teasing the HTC One X9 via their Weibo account (Chinese social network). Yesterday, they posted a new teaser hinting towards the 24th December launch and today at 6 PM China time, HTC will announce the new device as per the reports from China.
HTC One X9 is already approved by TENAA last month confirming the specs and of the device and revealing the images of the handset. The One X9 will feature a full metal body and will have a 5.5-inches IPS display with 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution. It will be powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor which may be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage with up to 1TB expandable storage slot. It runs on android 5.0.2 OS out of the box. It will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It will be available in silver gray color and comes with connectivity options such as Bluetooth, USB, GPS, GSM, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, 4G LTE FDD, WCDMA etc with a 3000mAh battery. It weights 174 g and measures 153.2×75.9×7.99 mm.
