Indian Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) started tasting Android 6.0 Marshmallow

There is a good news for the Motorola Moto G 3rd generation users in India that Motorola has started rolling the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the phone. Motorola has already pushed the Marshmallow update to Moto G (3rd Gen) in the US and Canada last month. Motorola India notified the users about this update on their Twitter handler, they posted,”Here is something new and amazing for your Moto G (3rd Gen.), the Android 6.0 Marshmallow!” with an image of Moto G 3rd Gen. The update comes with 2GB size and new software version of 24.11.25.en.US.

The new update brings new features and improvements to the Moto G 3rd Gen. This includes Doze, Google Now on Tap, new contextual assistance feature, new Google photos, auto back-up apps, updated Chrome browser and new app permissions feature. In addition, your device will get a new updated UI and you will love to use it. This update also comes with Google’s security patches for December.

The users on the Twitter are complaining that they have not received the update yet on their Moto G 3rd Gen and this may be a mistake from Motorola end. Apparently, Motorola customer care is advising the users incorrectly that the post on the official Motorola Twitter handler about this update is fake and the users must check the official website for latest phone updates related information. But there may be a communication gap between the the Motorola development team and service support team.

To recall, the Moto G 3rd Gen was launched in July in India with a 5-inch HD Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) Processor with 1.4 GHz Quad Core CPU and Adreno 306 with 400 MHz GPU. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box and comes with 1GB and 2GB RAM variants with 8GB and16GB storage respectively with up to 32 GB microSD expandable storage.

It features a 13 MP rear Dynamic CCT Dual LED camera with a 5 MP front camera. It is backed up by a 2470 mAh battery and has connectivity options such as 4G LTE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, with Google Maps, Wifi, GPRS, EDGE, USB v2, 3G, Bluetooth 4. It weights only 155 gms.
