Today, in an official post on MIUI forum, Xiaomi announced that Global Stable Build of the MIUI 7 called the MIUI 7.1 will start rolling on January 5 to a number of Xiaomi devices, that is starting tomorrow onwards. The devices that are eligible to get this update includes Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi 2 / Prime, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3G and Mi Pad.
This update is said to be based on Android 4.4 Kitkat that includes a security patch pushed by Google for android. Full changelog for this update will be available tomorrow on MIUI website and in addition, the MIUI 7.1 China stable build will also start rolling out from tomorrow. The devices like Mi 2/2S, Redmi 2, Redmi Note 2, and Redmi Note 3 are are not available in devices list that will receive the update but these devices are expected to get the update on January 11 instead.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2 Tablet were launched in November last year. Redmi Note 3 comes with 1080P 5.5-inch full HD display, a MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB storage options, a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, 4G dual SIM, Wi-Fi, MIUI 7 OS and a large 4000mAh battery with a fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the phone. Mi Pad 2 was launched with a large 7.9-inch display with 2048×1536 pixel resolution, a 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixels front facing camera, a large 6190mAh battery, MIUI 7 operating system based on Android.
The upcoming Xiaomi MI flagship MI 5 was recently leaked in leaked images and a video. It is expected to come with a 5.2 inch Quad HD display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel front facing camera, 16GB or 64GB inbuilt storage, unknown size expandable storage slot, 3030 mAh battery and around 1,999 Yuan price.
