Samsung Galaxy A9 was launched last month in China but there were no pricing and availability details available for this phone. Now the company has listed the device with full pricing details on the official Samsung China eStore website. The Galaxy A9 will cost 3,199 Yuan (around $490) in China and is up for pre-order. The gold color option is currently available in stock. The device is also available in two more color options Silver and Pink.
The Galaxy A9 is currently available only in China and we can expect a global announcement for this phone in the CES 2016 event of Samsung tomorrow. The device comes with model number SM-A9000 and was expected previously to launch in the CES but Samsung launched it before CES in December. The Galaxy A9 comes with upgraded features and display from its predecessor Galaxy A8. It comes with almost same specs like Galaxy A8 apart from the large display.
The Galaxy A9 comes with a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass and 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a Octa Core Snapdragon 652 (SD620) processor (Quad 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2GHz A53 CPUs) with Adreno 510 GPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage with expandable storage up to 128GB via micro SD card. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.
Galaxy A9 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, S5K3L2 sensor, f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and comes with an 8-megapixel front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture. It supports Dual-SIM and comes with a fingerprint sensor available at home button. It comes with a large 4000mAh battery with fast charging feature. Connectivity options available are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+ and NFC.
Samsung Galaxy A9 will be available in Silver, Gold and Pink colors globally too. In addition, Samsung has already announced the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) in China and we can expect that Samsung will also share global launch details of these devices tomorrow.
