AmanHuawei Honor 5X, that got the FCC approval in November last year, is now up for pre-orders in US via Amazon, HiHonor and Newegg online retailers. The device is priced at $199.99 unlocked on the above listed three online retailers websites. The retailer listings also confirms that the device will be released on January 31, 2016. In the CES 2016 event, Huawei revealed the Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei Honor 5X for the US market. The Mate 8 will also be available soon in US.
The unlocked Honor 5X dual-SIM LTE smartphone works on AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks. It comes with an aluminum alloy body that has been polished by diamonds with ceramic coating. It features a 5.5-inch HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. The device also comes with up to 128GB microSD card expandable storage slot.
It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top. It features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 28mm wide-angle lens with a SmartImage 3.0 image processor and 1080p video recording capability. A 5MP front facing camera with 22mm lens and f/2.4 aperture is also available.
It also has a fingerprint reader on the back. It will be available in Gold, white and gray color options in the US. It is backed up by a 3000 mAh battery.
Huawei is launching the Honor 5X in India too on January 28. The company has started sending the press invites for 28th January event to be held in India. In India, the Honor 5X will be launched with 3GB/2GB RAM variants, Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (MSM8939) (4×1.5GHz + 4×1.2GHz) processor with Adreno 405 GPU and other similar features we discussed above for US one.
