New Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 variant with Snapdragon 650 and 16 MP camera Launched

Xiaomi has today launched a new variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 smartphone that comes with Snapdragon processor instead of the MediaTek processor. The device will be available for sale starting Sunday in China and will be available in Dark Grey, Champagne Gold and Silver colours variants. Xiaomi announced the launch of this variant via their forums here. It will be available for CNY 999 (around $151) in China starting 17th January.

The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution and is powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor (four cores clocked at 1.2GHz and two cores clocked at 1.8GHz) paired with Adreno 510 GPU. It comes in two variants:16GB inbuilt storage with 2GB of RAM and the second one comes with 32GB inbuilt storage with 3GB RAM. The price for the 32GB/3GB RAM variant is still announced by the company. It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop OS.

It supports Dual SIM and features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, two-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p video recording and 120fps slow-motion. A 5-megapixel front-facing camera is also on board with features like f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording. It comes with a 4050mAh (typ) battery and packs a 4000mAh battery normal battery with fast charging support that can charge up the device to 50 percent in just 1 hour of charging.

It comes with full metal body with Infrared sensor and fingerprint sensor at back just like old Redmi note 3. It supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Glonass, Wi-Fi and Micro-USB connectivity options and measures 150x76x8.65 mm with weight 164g.

Xiaomi has recently launched the Redmi 3 smartphone priced at 699 Yuan (around $107) in China. It comes with a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of inbuilt storage capacity, 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor and Adreno 405 GPU, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 5-megapixel front facing camera, a 4100 mAh battery, Android 5 lollipop OS based MIUI and 139.3×69.6×8.5mm dimensions.
