Vodafone launched the Vodafone Smart prime 6 smartphone in the budgeted range last year priced at just $150 with good mid-range specifications and 4G connectivity. Looks like the telecom operator is gearing for the launch of the successor of the Vodafone Smart prime 6 that is called as Vodafone Smart prime 7. The Smart prime 7 has just got the approval from FCC in the US and will be ZTE made. This smartphone comes with model name VFD600 and the FCC documents doesn’t reveals any images of the device as well as the specifications of the device.
The ‘label’ document in the FCC documents confirms that the device will be named as Vodafone Smart prime 7 and comes with other model names like VFD 600, Vodafone Smart prime 7, Vodacom Smart prime 7. The device is tested for 4G LTE connectivity in the documents. It comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE band 7, WLAN 2.4GHz band:2412MHz ~ 2462MHz, Bluetoothv 2.1 + EDR , Bluetooth v4.1 LE, NFC etc. No other specifications details are listed in the documents.
To recall, the Vodafone Smart prime 6 was launched with just $150 price tag and we expect the same price for the Vodafone Smart prime 7. The Smart prime 6 was launched with 5-inch full 720p HD IPS display with 720×1280 pixel resolution and was powered by a Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU paired with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage and features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1080p Video recording and a night mode on the camera app to help brighten the darkest of photos. It also has a 2-megapixel front facing camera.
Vodafone Smart prime 6 runs on Android Lollipop 5.0.2 OS out of the box and comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS and FM Radio connectivity options. It measures 141.65×71.89x9mm and weights 155g. It has a 2,500 mAh non-removable battery available too.
The MWC 2016 event is going to be held in February and we can expect that Vodafone or ZTE will announce this smartphone in this event. Stay tuned.
