Samsung has recently launched the flagship device in the Galaxy A series of smartphones called the Samsung Galaxy A9 with a bigger display and battery. Now, looks like Samsung is working on a pro or mini version of this smartphone with name Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro and will be launched soon may be in the MWC event of Samsung. The Galaxy A9 smartphone has made its appearance in the GFXBench database revealing its specifications. THis device has a model number SM-A9100.
The GFXBench listing for the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100) confirms that this device comes with a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage that is further expandable via a microSD card slot. It runs on Android 6.0.1 OS out of the box which hints that the Galaxy A9 Pro will use the newest version of Android than the Android 5 used in Galaxy A9.
Further, the GFXbench listing confirms that the Galaxy A9 Pro comes with 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. Both cameras are capable of recording full HD videos. There may be the same 4,000 mAh battery used in the original Galaxy A9. The Galaxy A9 Pro was also listed in the Indian import/export website Zauba with display size 6-inches making its screen size a mystery for now.
To recall, the Galaxy A9 was launched in December last year with a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass and 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a Octa Core Snapdragon 652 processor (Quad 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2GHz A53 CPUs) with Adreno 510 GPU. Other specs includes 3GB of RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage with expandable storage up to 128GB via micro SD card, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, S5K3L2 sensor, f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, a front facing camera of 8-megapixel with f/1.9 aperture, Dual-SIM, a fingerprint sensor at home button, a large 4000mAh battery with fast charging feature and Connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+ and NFC.
The Samsung’s official event is going to held on 21st February just before official MWC event where the Korean giant is expected to launch the flagship devices Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The company may also unveil the Galaxy A9 Pro in this event. We have to wait now for the official event which is just few weeks away from now.
