Sprint pushes Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to HTC One M9 devices

Sprint has now started rolling the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the HTC One M9 devices in the US and has also updated this on their official website. The One M9 Marshmallow update was in development previously and now the official update is rolling out to the One M9 devices from 5th February as per the website. This update will be available in stages and can take several days for delivery. The users can manually check for an update on their One M9 or if they receive the update notification, then proceed with the installation of the new Android OS.

This update comes with new firmware version 3.41.651.3 and comes with new Marshmallow features and enhancements. This includes features like Doze, Google Now on Tap, redesigned app permissions, new look and many more other new features. The HTC One M9 is currently priced at $29.50 monthly for 2 years or $708 upfront on Sprint. This is a good move by the carrier to attract more customers to buy HTC One M9 and use the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

HTC One M9 comes with features like a 5.0-inch S-LCD FHD display with 1920X1080 pixel resolution and is powered by a 2.0GHz + 1.5GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB inbuilt storage with up to 128GB expandable storage capacity. The device was running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It features a 20 MP rear-facing camera with an ultra pixel 4MP front-facing camera. It has a 2840 mAh lithium-ion battery.

A couple of days back, Mo Versi has also announced via his Twitter post that the Marshmallow update has been approved for the Sprint One M9 owners and will start rolling the very next day to all One M9 users on Sprint.

The Marshmallow update is already rolling out to the Canadian carrier variants and in the UK, the unlocked One M9 is getting this latest OS update. More HTC One M9 devices will get this update in the coming days as well. To manually check for the update for your HTC One M9, go to Settings > System updates > HTC software update > Check now and check for the update.
