Not only the Galaxy S7, Samsung also launched the big brother of the Galaxy S7 called the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge in the MWC event. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge was a part of lots of rumors online and comes with identical specs like Galaxy S7 with few differences like the display and battery. It will be available in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl and Silver Titanium color options and will be available starting March 11th, 2016. Just like Galaxy S7, the S7 Edge customers will also get free Gear VR headset with the pre-orders in select countries.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD 534 PPI Super AMOLED always-on curved edge display with 2560×1440 pixels resolution and is powered by Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 processor or Octa-Core Exynos 8 Octa 8890 (2.3GHz Quad + 1.6GHz Quad) processor along with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It has 32/64GB internal storage variants and expandable storage slot also available with up to 200GB microSD storage. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box and support Hybrid Dual SIM.
It again features the same 12-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture and Smart OIS. It also has the 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging feature with wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC.
The Galaxy S7 Edge also comes with IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and also has a Heart rate sensor, Fingerprint sensor and a Barometer. It measures 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7mm and weights 157g. It is priced at £639 in the UK and is up for pre-orders in the UK via official Samsung website and other online retailers in the UK and other countries.
