Xiaomi is going to unveil its flagship MI device Xiaomi MI 5 today at an event at MWC. The company is already teasing the device via its weibo accounts and has also confirmed via their weibo account that they will also launch the upgrade variant of the Mi 4 that will be called as MI 4S. Now the comapny has launched it that will be priced at 1699 yuan (around $260) in China. The device will feature upgraded features and hardware. The company has also posted some images of the device on their weibo account and it will be available starting March 1st in China.
As per the Xiaomi’s weibo post, the MI 4S comes with a 5-inches Full HD IPS fully laminated 441 PPI display with 95% NTSC color gamut and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by the hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit processor with Adreno 418 GPU with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity expandable with microSD card. It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device features a large 3260mAh battery with with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 feature and supports Dual SIM as well.
It features a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 5P lenses, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p video and 120fps slow motion video with a 5MP front-facing camera, f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide angle lens. It will also feature a fingerprint scanner available on its rear side and also has an Infrared sensor. It will have a metal frame with sided glass and will support the 4G + VoLTE networks. The connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band (MIMO), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C. It will be available in White, Black, Gold, Purple and limited edition Pink color options.
So the above features will make the MI 4S a beast with upgraded specs from the last year’s MI 4 that was launched with a 5-inch IPS display with 441 PPI resolution with Corning Gorilla glass protection and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It comes with 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has 16GB internal storage and runs on MIUI V6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
Other specs of the MI 4 includes a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, Sony IMX214 BSI sensor, 6-element lens, f/1.8 aperture and 4K video recording, 8MP front-facing camera with Sony Exmor R sensor, 5-element lens and f/1.8 aperture, 3080mAh battery, Infrared LED, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity options.
