Gionee W909 and Gionee S8 now official in China

Gionee has launched the Elife E8 phablet last year and was teasing the new clamsheel device Gionee W909 on their weibo account. The company has already announced the Gionee S8 at the MWC, last month. Now, Gionee has officially announced its new clamshell flip phone flagship Gionee W909 along with the Gionee S8 today in an official event in China.

Both the devices have been launched in China but the availability details of Gionee W909 is still a mystery, however, the Gionee S8 will be available for sale starting 11 April. The Gionee W909 is priced at 3,999 Yuan (around $616) and the Gionee S8 is priced at 2,599 Yuan (around $400) in China. Both are currently available for pre-orders on official website.

Gionee W909:

It features dual 4.2-inch IPS HD displays with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by the 1.8GHz MT6755M Helio P10 octa-core processor with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage capacity that is further expandable via MicroSD card slot up to 128GB. It is the only clamshell device from Gionee that has a fingerprint scanner and comes with premium Plastic and metal finish. It supports Dual SIM and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based customized OS.

It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and dual tone LED flash with a 5-megapixel front facing camera as well. It is backed up by a 2,530mAh battery that can deliver deliver 30 hours of talk time and 408 hours standby time. it comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C port connectivity options and measures 124.1 x 62.8 x 16.5 mm with weigh 207.7 grams. Gionee S8:

Gionee has also announced the Gionee S series flagship Gionee S8 in this event that was first seen at MWC 2016 event held in Barcelona last month. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 3D Touch with Quick Actions menu and is powered by the 2.0GHz 64-bit Helio P10 MT6755 processor. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity that can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot.

It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Amigo 3.2 UI. The device features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and laser autofocus, and also an 8-megapixel front facing camera. It comes with a 3,000mAh battery delivering up to 21 hours of talk time and up to 255 hours of standby time.

Connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, OTG, WiFI, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.0, Type-C USB 2.0, GPS and includes USB Type-C port for faster data transfer speeds. It measures 154.3 x 74.9 x 7 mm and weighs 152 grams. It is available in Shining gold, Deep Space Grey and Rose Gold color options with Magnesium alloy build.
