HTC today announced its much awaited flagship device HTC 10 in an event with top-end specs and features. The device was launched with upgraded hardware and software and is priced at $699.99 in the United states and in other regions as well. Surprisingly, the company has launched a lite variant of the flagship device with the name HTC 10 Lifestyle for the Indian market. The original HTC 10 is not listed on the official HTC India website hinting towards no availability of the Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM variant in India.
The pricing details of HTC 10 Lifestyle is not announced yet but it has downgraded features from the original HTC 10. It comes with the Snapdragon 652 instead of the Snapdragon 820 and the RAM is down to 3GB from 4GB available in the original HTC 10. Other features in the HTC 10 Lifestyle are same like the HTC 10 and the device is currently listed with this new name on the official website of HTC India.
HTC 10 Lifestyle comes with a 5.2-inch quad HD Super LCD 5 display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection and 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. It is powered by the octa-core 64-bit 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor instead of the Snapdragon 820 soc. The device come with 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB and is available on in a 32GB inbuilt storage variant and it also supports expandable storage via microSD card up to 2TB. It runs on the same Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8.0 UI on top.
It features a 12-megapixel Ultrapixel 2 camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser AF, OIS and 4K video recording features. It also houses a 5-megapixel autofocus front-facing camera with 1.34um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, OIS, 23mm focal length and 86-degree wide angle. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 feature that can charge the battery up to 50% in just 30 minutes and offers up to 2 days of battery life with normal use.
Connectivity options available are 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C. The HTC 10 also comes with HTC BoomSound, Dolby Audio and three noise cancellation microphones. It measures 145.9 x 71.9 x 3.0 – 9.0mm and weights 161 grams. The flagship device from HTC comes with full metal body and the fingerprint scanner available on the home button can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds.
