Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S7 along with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in February at the MWC 2016 event. Now the company is spotted working on an Active variant, rumored to be called as Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. The device has just appeared on GFXBench database listing some of its key specifications.
It is listed with the model number SM-G891A on GFXBench. There are no images available in the GFXBench listing that we may be available with its TENAA approval in the upcoming days. The Galaxy S7 Active comes with a Snapdragon processor instead of the Exynos 8890 SoC.
The GFXBench listing for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (SM-G891A) comes with a 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and is powered by the quad-core 2.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 ([email protected] + [email protected] – ARMv8) processor along with Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage capacity.
It runs on the Android 6.0.1 marshmallow OS out of the box. It features a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. Other features includes Bluetooth, GPS, USB, WiFi, NFC and other standard connectivity options. No other details about this device are currently listed in the GFXBench listing.
Few days back the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active was leaked in a live image. The device is expected to be launched with military grade protection and IP68 rating. The leaked image also shows the front panel that has three buttons at the bottom where two buttons will be for navigation and the last one will be the home button. A fingerprint scanner is also expected in the home button on front side.
