Sony kills Xperia C and M series, Xperia X series to follow

In February this year, Sony officially announced that the Xperia Z series is dead and now a new leak suggests that Sony will focus more on the Xperia X series of devices until the year 2018 than others and there will be no more launches in the Xperia C and Xperia M series in the future. Some presentation slides have been leaked by ePrice website that confirms everything above, however, the company hasn’t confirmed anything yet from these rumors.

The leaked presentation slides clearly confirms that all the future devices including the flagship models will be launched in the Xperia X series and not in any other Xperia series till the year 2018. Another slide shows that the “X” logo will be used aggressively by the company in all its products and products promotions. Its still not clear about this idea from Sony or if the company is facing any problems with the sales of these two Xperia series devices. Everything will be cleared from an official announcement from Sony that also may not be far off.

In February at MWC, the company launched its new flagship range of devices that includes Xperia X Performance, Xperia X and Xperia XA. The Xperia X Performance comes with specs like a 5-inch Triluminos display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, quad-core Snapdragon 820 64-bit 14nm processor with Adreno 530 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage with expandable storage up to 200GB via microSD card, Dual SIM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, a 23-megapixel rear camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, a Fingerprint sensor, a 2700mAh Battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology,Connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS and NFC.

The Sony Xperia X was launched with a 5-inch Triluminos Display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 ( 4x 1.2GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A72 ) 64-bit processor with Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage expandable up to 200GB via microSD card, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, Dual SIM, a 23-megapixel rear camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2630mAh battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology, a Fingerprint sensor, connectivity options includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ GLONASS and NFC and measures 69.4 x 142.7 x 7.9mm with weight 153 grams.

Sony Xperia XA comes with a 5-inch curved glass edge-to-edge display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, a Octa-core (4 x 2.0 GHz + 4 x 1.0 GHz) MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor with 700MHz Mali T860MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with up to 200GB expandable storage via microSD card, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Dual SIM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2300 mAh battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology, Connectivity options includes 4G LTE, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n , Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and measures 143.6 x 66.8 x 7.9mm and weights 137.4g.
