The “Flagship killer” Oneplus 3 was launched in India on 15th of this month with high-end specifications and budget friendly price. The device comes with premium design and features like 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 at an affordable rate making it the best smartphone of the year 2016. The device was announced at $399 in the US and at 399 Euros in Europe. Now its available for £309 in the UK but the company has said that this price of OnePlus 3 may increase in the future and the company has also mentioned the reasons for this on their official thread on OnePlus forums.
“We’ve always strived to create the best product and deliver them to customers at a reasonable price. However, the worrying downward trend of the GBP may make it difficult to maintain our current pricing structure in the UK. Our margins have always been thin, and our expenses are mainly in USD. This being the case, sudden drops such as the one that the Pound has recently experienced could have a direct impact on our prices.” said OnePlus staff member in the forum post.
The company mentioned the reason “the worrying downward trend of the GBP” for this possible price hike in future. The staff member also added, ” If you’re thinking of buying a OnePlus 3 unit in the UK, we recommend doing so sooner rather than later” hinting towards the price hike in the upcoming days may be. So the interested buyers can order the device right away to avoid any price hike impact.
TO recall, the OnePlus 3 was launched with features like a 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm processor which is the 2.15GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. OnePlus 3 comes with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage capacity.
It runs on the Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS with Oxygen OS 3.1 UI on top. It supports Dual SIM and features a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, 1.12 micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, OIS, 4K video recording at 30 fps and 720p slow motion at 120fps. An 8-megapixel camera with Sony IMX179 sensor, 1.4 micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p video recording is available on front area. A fingerprint sensor is available on the home button of the device that can unlock the phone in under 0.3 seconds.
OnePlus 3 comes with a good 3000mAh battery with Dash Charge feature that can charge the device up to 60% in just 30 minutes of charging with the company’s 5V-4A charger. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C. It also comes with Bottom-facing speaker and dual microphone for noise cancellation. It measures 152.7×74.7×7.35mm and weights 158 grams.
