The Xiaomi Mi Max, that was launched last month in China with helfy features, is now available in India as well. The company has also announced its new MIUI 8 OS based on Android. The Xiaomi Mi Max is priced at Rs. 14,999 (around $222) for the 3GB of RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage option. The Snapdragon 652 variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage is priced at Rs. 19,999 (around $296).
The Mi Max will be available via the mi.com website from July 6th for which the registrations will start today. From July 13th, it will be available via major Indian online retailers like Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Tata CLiQ and Paytm. It comes in gold, silver and light grey color options.
The Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 72% NTSC color gamut. It is powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 650 / octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor with Adreno 510 GPU and comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB / 64GB storage and 4GB + 128GB storage variants with expandable storage with microSD card. It runs on the MIUI 8 OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and supports Dual SIM. It comes with full metal unibody design and is just 7.5mm thick.
It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF and f/2.0 aperture. A 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture is also placed for selfie lovers. It is backed up by a large 4850 mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS. It measures 173.1×88.3×7.5 mm and weights 203 grams. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and infrared sensor is also available. It will be available in in gold, silver and light grey color options.
The company also announced the new version of the MIUI called the MIUI 8 with new features and improvements. It will be available for the device such as Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3G, Mi Note, Mi Max 32GB, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 3.
MIUI 8 comes with features like new gallery, MIUI caller ID, T9 Hindi keyboard, Dual apps feature, Mi cloud photos, Scrolling screenshots, Mobikwik integration, Power saving mode and many other exciting new features. The MIUI 8 Public beta will be available from July 11th and the MIUI 8 global stable ROM will be available from August 16th, 2016.
