The Xiaomi Redmi Pro had before now not been announced by the Chinese company to be among the gadgets they will be releasing on July 27. However, Xiaomi’s CEO and Founder Lei Jun, seem to have wholesomely confirmed that the Redmi Pro would be released on July 27. Lei Jun wrote on his Weibo page today, expressing excitement about the Redmi Pro billed to be released at the Xiaomi news conference next Wednesday being July 27.
Before this glaring message, all what we have gotten from the Chinese company were in form of video and image teasers, leaving much of the job of grabbing the intended message to our mind.
The latest teasing had been in form of a promotional video featuring the three new spokespersons one after the other. The promotional video started rolling out on July 20 and Xiaomi promised daily doses of such promotional video teasers for the next seven days till the Redmi Pro gets outed.
The theme of the promotional videos featuring the three spokespersons referred to as “celebrity cooks” highlighted some of the specifications the Xiaomi Redmi Pro will sport. When summed up, the three promotional videos revealed Xiaomi’s next flagship will come with an OLED screen which would make it the first Xiaomi device to have such. The device would also cram a Deca-core processor with dual main cameras, and also would rock a polished (brushed) metal body.
It has been speculated all along that the Remi Pro will feature a 5.5-inch 1080pixel OLED display and would be powered by a Deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 chipset, equipped with 4GB RAM and a maximum 128GB of on-board storage. The sleek dual-SIM device will run on Xiaomi’s custom MIUI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and would have support for all networks. Also, the device is expected to carry a price tag of around 1499 yuan ($225) when launched.
