AmanGoogle has officially started rolling the new Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to their flagship devices Google Pixel and Pixel XL worldwide which now enables 4G VoLTE support for these devices for HD calling. The update weights 263 MB in size and comes with bug fixes, stability and performance improvements and other additions as well. The update is available now for the Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9 / Nexus 9 LTE and for the Google Nexus Player. The flagship Pixel and Pixel XL were launched by Google in October.
This new update also brings new professional emoji, sending GIFs directly via keyboard from supported apps such as Google Allo, new app shortcuts where you can launch apps directly from home screen, enhanced live wallpaper metadata, round icon resources, improved VR thread scheduling, APIs for carriers and calling apps and other exciting features as well. “Android 7.1.1 is an incremental release that builds on the features already available on Pixel and Pixel XL devices, adding a handful of new features for consumers as well as optimizations and bug fixes on top of the base Android 7.1 platform” says Google in an official post.
The company also said that the general Mobile 4G device that are usually known as Android One devices will also get the update in the upcoming weeks. The users enrolled for the Google Android beta program will also receive the final version soon. The users can also flash the OTA files to their devices at their own risk if they haven’t yet received the OTA update yet. We recommend you wait for the OTA version of the update instead of flashing the update to the devices.
If you haven’t received the update on your device then go to settings>>about>>software updates to update your device to the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. There is still no info available when other devices, except listed above, will get the Android 7.1.1 update or not in the future. We have to wait for the Google announcement if those will ge the update or not.
