We recently told you about the ZTE’s official CES 2017 event that will take place on 4th of January at booth LVCC, South Hall 3 in Las Vegas. The company confirmed that they will launch new products at the CES event but the company didn’t confirmed any smartphones for the event. Now, ZTE has officially launched the new ZTE Blade series smartphone ZTE Blade V8 in a blog post that features a dual-rear camera and comes with a fingerprint scanner on the front panel. The Blade V8 will be the successor to the ZTE Blade V7 launched at MWC event this year.
According to the official ZTE blog post, the ZTE Blade V8 will feature a metallic body with a matte finish and also comes with diamond-cut edges that offer a metallic sheen. It comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD 2.5D glass display which features a subtle curve around its edges and comes with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and a high screen-to-body ratio. It will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) processor that also comes with Adreno 505 GPU and it will have 3GB of RAM.
The official blog post further confirms that the ZTE Blade V8 will have 32GB of inbuilt storage capacity and it will run on the Android 7.0 Nougat based ZTE’s own MiFavor 4.0 UI on top. It will feature a dual-rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel sensor hving soft flash and a 2-megapixel camera for picking up depth information. The dual rear cameras comes with DSLR-like bokeh effects for your photos and can also shoot stereoscopic 3D photos. The effects can be viewed using VR glasses.
The ZTE Blade V8 will be only 7.7 mm thick and will also feature a fingerprint scanner on the front of the device on the home button. The fingerprint scanner comes with support for NFC and comes with 360-degree fingerprint reading support that helps unlocking the device in just 0.3 seconds. No other device specifications were listed by the company in the official blog post so we have to wait or the company’s official CES event for more details on this device. The pricing and availability details were also not shared by the company in the official blog post.
To recall, the ZTE Blade V7 was launched with a 5.2-inch IPS 2.5D curved glass display, a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, MicroSD card expandable storage, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2500mAh battery and 4G LTE with VoLTE support.
