Google has now announced the availability of Android One smartphones running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS in Indonesia after announcing it in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Google’s Vice President Product Management, Caesar Sengupta, has announced this news on the official Google Asia Pacific Blogspot post today.
Google has also listed the new Android 5.1 Lollipop OS on their Indonesia Android page. Google has partnered with Evercoss, Mito and Nexian Indonesia based companies to make high quality smartphones for less than 1.5 million rupiah.
The new Android 5.1 Lollipop OS comes with new features which Google explains as, ” the fastest, most responsive Android experience ever with up to 2x better performance than the previous version.”
Android 5.1 lollipop comes with features like new battery saver that can extend battery life by up to 90 minutes, new material design look, edge-to-edge graphics, quick settings etc. This is to note that Android One phones automatically updates to new version of Android.
“Google has partnered with a local mobile service provider, Telkomsel, to reduce data costs for those who buy Android One phones with a promotion that provides free over-the-air (OTA) updates and 200MB per month worth of app downloads from Google Play for the first six months.” Caesar Sengupta added.
